Archival Library & Reading Room
Since the Centre opened in 2000 we have been compiling a collection of books by the Kerry Writers for our Archival Library, many of which are now out of print. While we do not yet have a comprehensive collection visitors are welcome to read from these selected works in the bright and relaxing surroundings of our Reading Room.
Room Hire
Seanchaí has three venues to hire, depending on the size of your event :
Main auditorium - This 120 seat auditorium, available only in the evenings is ideal for book launches, musical events, lectures and readings.
The Reading Room located over the Centre Reception is a bright and relaxing venue ideal for small group meetings, interviews and classes. This room is available during the day and in the evenings and seats approximately 10 to 15 people.
The Writers' Week Room located in the 19th century Georgian residence and overlooking the Square is available for groups of approximately 25 to 30 people, ideal for training courses, readings and workshops.
Facilities available include:
Overhead Projector Screen, TV & Video, Flipchart, Slide Projector, Lectern, TV & Video, Slide Projector, facsimile and photocopying facilities. Refreshments can be arranged in the Rooms or in the Restaurant on the ground floor.
The costs of hiring a room are:
All day (weekdays): €100.00
Half day (weekdays) : €50.00
Evenings : €100.00
All day Saturday/Sunday: €250.00
Half day (Sat/Sun): €100.00
Evenings Sat/Sun: €100.00
